Sun Ra - Space is the Place (1974)

Alle paar Jahre sollten wir den wirklichen Visionären unser Weltgeschichte Respekt zollen. Das möchte ich hiermit tun. Kinder, fettet die Posaunen, legt das Linoleum aus. Seine Eminenz betritt den Planeten. All hail, Sun Ra!
Sehet! Es kommt ein afrozentristischer, free jazz-spielender Wanderprediger vom Saturn aus der Stratosphäre gesegelt. Er trotzt dem Blitzlichtgewitter, versorgt Oaklands Ghetto-Jugend mit musikalischem Seelenfutter und duelliert sich mit einem dämonischen Pimp names "The Overseer"; trashig, abstrus und einfach genial. Eine Jazz-Legende spielt sich selbst.
